Gateway and STAR Programmes

STAR

The objective of STAR is to enable schools to meet the needs of students by exposing them to various pathways and facilitate a smooth transition to workplace learning or tertiary study.

The Cut Above Academy STAR program provides an opportunity to sample the Hairdressing, Barbering, Makeup Artistry and Special Effects Makeup industries.

Tuesday to Thursday, 9.00am to 5.00pm.

Gateway

The Gateway program opens new pathways from high school to tertiary study and workplace learning. It is a great opportunity for students to experience workplace learning and tertiary study prior to making decisions about their career path.

We run Gateway programs in Hairdressing, Barbering and Makeup, and unit standards gained through the Gateway program leads to nationally recognised qualifications and counts towards NCEA qualifications.
